JOB DESCRIPTION
SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a Marketing and Communications Coordinator to work in our Reston, VA headquarters.  The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will support virtually every aspect of the company’s Marketing & Communications (MarComm) function. The role requires a detail-oriented candidate with a keen interest in all elements of MarComm, including internal and external communications, event and meeting support (both internal and external), promotional materials, website and social media updates, email execution, financial management support, analytics coordination, and external marketing campaign assistance.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Supports meetings, events, and trade shows by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements; establishing contacts; developing schedules and assignments; coordinating attendee lists; and managing shipping and billing.
  • Maintains promotional materials and promotional/company store site, including but not limited to: updating items, inventorying stock, placing orders, delivering, and verifying receipt.
  • Assists in researching the market, industry trends, and the competitive landscape, while supporting marketing, branding, and communication plans. 
  • Supports the MarComm team as needed by collating and helping coordinate MarComm channel content—collateral, social media, website, SharePoint, marketing campaigns, internal communications.
  • Manages department invoicing and purchase requests; serves as department’s finance point of contact.
  • Supports content reviews and, where appropriate, writes content for both print and web, including the company website, emails, brochures, and newsletters.
  • Serves as point of contact for department requests as needed.
  • Supports the MarComm team with projects and events, as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related area.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a marketing or communications position.
  • Critical thinker with strong problem-solving and research skills.
  • Must have solid organizational skills and be detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Creative mind with superb written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Works well both independently and with others.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graphics experience.
  • Experience in the aerospace, defense, and government services industry.
  • Experience with event planning and execution.
  • Fluency in a foreign language.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Working conditions as normal for an office environment.
