STG Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of SOS International LLC (SOSi)  is seeking a qualified, professional and experience Documentation Specialist in Arlington, VA.

This position will support the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs, providing comprehensive innovative software development services.

The selected individual will be an active member of a mature Agile development team utilizing SAFe methodologies to develop, edit and refine documentation as part of the software development lifecycle process.  Collaborating closely with the development and operations teams and customer stakeholders to bring together the full range of technical and business competencies needed to enable successful achievement of customer service deliverables and SLAs, technology transformation, business requirements and other work deliverables which are consistent with organizational goals and objectives. The candidate will work in a collaborative manner with the operations and architecture teams to propose, brainstorm, represent, and implement simple to complex architectural solutions.

 Position Description:

  • Function as a communications and information specialist, preparing material for publications and other media internally and externally.
  • Responsible for final reviews of proposed publications for style, design, layout, and editorial aspects before government approval.
  • Gather necessary information from Program personnel to support the Government in developing, writing, formatting, and editing technical and non-technical information for reports, manuals, procedures, processes, briefs, and other forms of documentation.
  • Develops and maintains operational procedures documents.
  • Draft, coordinate, and implement updates to maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to carry out detailed customer functions.
  • Create, format, verify and proof application development documentation.
  • Ensure project-related deliverables adhere to policies and meet requirements
  • Escalate risks and issues related to documentation deliverables.
  • Serve as a member of an Agile Development team utilizing SAFe methodologies.



To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.  This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.   

  • BS/BA Degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience in technical writing and documentation experience pertaining to all aspects of ADP, including 2 years of specialized experience in Government technical or software development documentation.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance, or the ability to gain an interim through SOSi is required.  In addition, selected candidate must be able to maintain the clearance for continued employment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products including Powerpoint and Visio.



Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these preferred skills will be given preferential consideration: 

  • Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs experience desired.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Team Foundation Server is preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with EUDS documentation standards.
