JOB DESCRIPTION

SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a qualified Director for Emergency Services for our current contract located on Camp Taji in Iraq.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Plans, manages, evaluates and revises all emergency operations, planning, risk management and training related to the following emergency services based on the Program Managers guidance:
o Fire
o Medical
o Safety
o Base security operations
Directly responsible for the following departments:
o Security
o Intelligence
o Fire and Emergency Services
o Clinic
o Health
o Safety
o Environment.
Oversees HSE programs and initiatives to meet regulatory requirements and client contractual obligations
Ensures HSE plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are current and effectively implemented
Develops, recommends and implements preventative measures, enhancements/improvements that deliver high quality HSE, Emergency and Safety services 
Manages the activities and performance of the Site’s contracted security provider through the provider’s designated Project Manager 
Directs the formulation of work methods and procedures to be followed by department members
Inspects and appraises departmental activities and personnel, takes necessary steps in modifying fire and ambulance operations to meet changing conditions
Oversees or the assigning of department personnel, prepares the departmental budget and oversees the control of expenditures
Interviews applicants for hire, conducts or participates in other phases of the hiring selection process, makes recommendations to the Human Resource representative
Manages the activities, integration and performance of the other Emergency Services planning and executing support emergencies and contingencies on the Site resulting from threat attacks
Executes PM/DPM direction and guidance by developing plans for integration and synchronization of policies, practices, procedures across all functions in the compound 
Ensures the attainment of operational emergency services goals and objectives
Remains vigilant and cognizant of the current threat level and security issues through MSG-I security personnel as well as subcontract security company to ensure that proper security measure and alerts are disseminated to all boots on ground and in-coming or out-going personnel
Manages health, safety and risk management programs as well as the hazardous waste storage program
Manages and provides clear guidance to medical, safety managers and fire chief
Reviews, analyzes and prepares reports, records, and directives, and confers with PM/DPM
Manages emergency service supervisors to obtain data required for planning activities, such as work flow, scheduling, site reconfiguration, and inventory analysis 
Provides work direction, resolves problems, prepares schedules, and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work
Evaluates current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives to develop and implement improved procedures and practices
Coordinates activities of departments with related activities of other departments to ensure efficiency

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field; related experience can be substituted in lieu of education
Eight (8) years of experience in similar position or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Previous experience in liaison or management in an overseas environment is preferred
Ability to work within the context of political and operational security organizations at the national and international levels
Possesses an understanding of logistical and fiscal support to overseas operations and have the ability to solve real-world problems with short deadlines 
Excellent writing and communication skills and extensive experience in preparing and presenting oral and written briefings. 
Previous international experience in management of similar programs and an ability to work within foreign and diverse cultures is required 
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Office Project

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Willingness to live and work under environmental and other conditions that may be uncomfortable at times
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
Requires periods of non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary 
May require ability to lift/and or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs.
