JOB DESCRIPTION

SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager for our current contract on Camp Taji in Iraq.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Manage programs, policies and processes in support of project health, safety and environmental programs
Responsible for field level implementation of health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines
Activities include but are not limited:
o Risk identification and management
o Incident reporting and investigation
o Waste minimization
o Pollution prevention and control
o Various compliance activities
o Implementation of various aspects of management systems in all areas of HSE
Maintains liaison with client representatives, company HSE personnel, and regulatory agencies
Administers the HSE programs on the project at the direction of the program manager
Audits HSE programs and site conditions at all work sites
Oversees incident investigations and conducts investigations of incidents that could result in litigation
Develops and presents recommendations and advises all levels of management to ensure balance between productivity and the safety of team members, sub- contractors and visitors
Creates and establishes project HSE programs to address program gaps
Advises, consults, guides, and assists sectors, divisions, regions, or corporate departments in HSE matters
Provides guidance to management through interpretation of HSE Practices and Procedures, legislation, and regulation
Maintains records, reports, and documents required to meet corporate and regulatory requirements
Compiles, vets, prepares and distributes client deliverables with proficiency and accuracy
Manages the Vector Control Team ensuring control of pests, animals and other vectors to maintain a healthy camp population

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Requires knowledge of Company HSE programs, policies, procedures and processes
High School Diploma. Associates Degree preferred
7 years’ experience with previous experience in overseeing employees
Experience working in a contingency environment such as Iraq or Afghanistan, or some other comparable contingency environment
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and on a team
Demonstrable proficiency in MS Office suite
Ability to pass basic physical and background checks sufficient for duty in a contingency/military environment
Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
Flexibility to be able to adapt behavior to suit different situations and customers

Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
