SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a highly qualified Electrician to support a Government customer in Tampa, Florida. The Electrician will be directly responsible for the day to day electrical maintenance tasks in support of base operations on MacDill Air Base in Tampa, Florida and additional areas of responsibility as directed.

Essential Job Duties

  • Perform interior electrical maintenance, repairs and enhancements of 110/220V single and 3-phase devices and distribution; ensuring the installation of electrical systems & devices are conducted in compliance with local regulations.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctioning electrical step-down transformers, replacement or repair of interior and exterior lighting systems (bulbs, ballasts, etc.) and replace aged wiring.
  • Provide operations, inspection, maintenance and repair of building Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) systems IAW manufactures instructions.
  • Provide electrical support on electronic security & access control system and make repairs and enhancements required by the Program Manager.
  • Must be familiar with electrical systems utilized in US.
  • Conduct inspections and perform exterior electric and generator maintenance and operations; includes responsibility for Emergency Generator transfer of power between commercial base source and Automatic Transfer Switches.
  • Shall maintain a computerized database maintenance log of all preventive maintenance inspections (PMIs) done on the generators to include any major component change or replaced item.  Contractor shall identify critical parts to have on hand and get additional technical help within a 24-48 hour time period.
  • Able to install and repair electrical floor boxes, power strips, small appliance transformers, lamps, overhead fans, fan motors, wall outlets, and cable TV outlets for new configurations.
  • Able to read as-built drawings and participate in any design package reviews or field surveys for all sustainment, repair and enhancement projects.
  • Security Clearance: TOP SECRET/SCI Security Clearance required.
  • Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent education required.
  • Experience:
  • At least 7 years of electrical experience in the United States.
  • Must have an Electrical Vocational Diploma, completed an Electrical Apprentice program with a Journeyman Certificate or equivalent verifiable training from a credible training institution.
  • Must possess strong experience and knowledge in Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and writing skills are critical.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are needed.
  • Must be able to work as an individual or on a team.
  • Occasionally may be required to travel overseas from time to time.

Desired Qualities

  • Understanding of the Air Force or Army culture, language and expectations for mission success.


  • Physical requirements include lifting, climbing, extended sitting or standing, or other physical efforts that are normally required. Working conditions include a combination of an office environment and outdoor activities. Outside working conditions include potential exposure to extreme high temperatures, dry and dusty conditions.
  • Required PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and Lifts and carries all types of working materials and equipment of the trade depending on the assignment hearing protective devices.
  • May handle materials and equipment that weighs over 50 pounds or more.
