JOB DESCRIPTION

SOSi is seeking a Buyer for our current contract located on Camp Taji in Iraq.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Receives and reviews purchase requisitions for clarity, compliance, detail, completeness, and obtains additional information considered necessary
  • Develops purchase orders in final form for approval and signature
  • Prepare and maintain a complete purchase order file in accordance with written guidelines and defined processed to support the complete procurement cycle
  • Effectively understand, apply and be able to enforce FAR requirements throughout procurement process
  • Maintain contacts with vendors/suppliers to ensure proper adherence to the terms and conditions outlined in the Purchase Order and associated terms and conditions
  • Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and receipt documents and invoices
  • Prepare and maintain Purchase Order Files, Purchase Order logs and multiple reports directly related to the procurement status
  • Respond to Supplier inquiries, maintain open line of communication with requester, and provide status to Management on all assigned procurement activity
  • Review, proofread, and verify forms and financial documents for accuracy in calculation, coding, and adherence to policies and procedures
  • Identify problems, analyze alternatives, and develop viable recommendations
  • Read, comprehend and interpret written materials of moderate to complex difficulty
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of assignment
  • Communicate in a group environment in order to conduct pre-bid conferences
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • At least two (2) years of progressive procurement buying experience
  • Prior experience handling international buying and procurement with foreign suppliers on US Government contracts
  • Knowledge of procurement principles and processes
  • Proficiency in the use of software applications (word, excel and database, internet and electronic mail)
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Exercise good judgment in safeguarding confidential or sensitive information and adhere to high standards of confidentiality and honesty

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fluency in a foreign language

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Willingness to live and work under environmental and other conditions that may be uncomfortable at times
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
  • Requires periods of non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary 
  • May require ability to lift/and or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs.
