JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is contingent upon contract award**
STG, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of SOSi is seeking an entry-level / junior Desktop Engineer for the ESA IV program. This position will primarily support the DOJ Justice Management Division (JMD) component. This position will be focused on IT end user device management. The candidate will be involved in a broad range of tasks and issues supporting current day to day production operation as well as integration of new capabilities.  These tasks will include vulnerability management (i.e. patching), tier 3 incident management, SCCM administration, ticket queue monitoring and management, group policy administration, software testing, hardware evaluation and testing, image development and deployment, and asset management activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
• This position will be focused on IT end user device management. The candidate will be involved in a broad range of tasks and issues supporting current day to day production operation as well as integration of new capabilities.  These tasks will include vulnerability management (i.e. patching), tier 3 incident management, SCCM administration, ticket queue monitoring and management, group policy administration, software testing, hardware evaluation and testing, image development and deployment, and asset management activities. The candidate will utilize enterprise tools (e.g. BigFix, Tenable Security Center, DOJ SPDR, SCCM, MDT) and their hands on system administration skills to identify, analyze and remediate issues. The candidate will also need to use broad desktop engineering skills to respond to real time production system issues/events or analyze new or enhancement capabilities. Clear verbal and written communication skills are essential. The candidate will work on-site directly with other ESA IV team members and government employees. Direction will be provided daily by government leads.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• General knowledge of enterprise scale IT systems, architectures and components (servers, and virtualization, networking, security appliances,) particularly the system integration challenges balancing secure operations with operational needs.
• Experience with Windows server and workstation administration including Active Directory. This should include ability to apply remote administration to evaluate and potentially correct system configurations, complete assessment and remediation of system hardening to DISA STIGs using security tools and command line (powershell) evaluation.
• Experience with basic network security practices and configuration
• Experience with one or more enterprise configuration management tools (e.g. Big Fix, SCCM) including running the tools and customizing queries and outputs.
• Solid communication and documentation skills
• Motivated individual with the ability to work in small team
 
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Advanced Windows administration skills and knowledge of current and emerging Windows features.
• Experience with DOJ environment and tools
• Experience using and administrating SCCM, including software/patch testing and deployment
• Experience using MDT for image development and deployment
• Fluency in a foreign language 
• U.S. Government security clearance

• Normal office working conditions with possible requirement to lift and/or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs
