SOSi is seeking a Linguist Manager (LM) who will serve as the lead for all linguist interaction with military points of contact (POCs) in the KOSOVO area of operations. This role is authorized to act on all matters relating to the daily operation of the TO. The LM will be responsible for the management of staff and personnel located throughout the KOSOVO area of operations. 

Contract will cover KOSOVO Area of Responsibility (AOR) with primary locations in Camp Bondsteel Kosovo (some travel may be required to various sites located throughout the KOSOVO AOR).


  • Accountable for all aspects of the task order execution and manages the hands-on, day-to-day execution of TO related operational activities
  • Maintain overall responsibility of the administration, safety, health and welfare, and overall management of all linguistic support services that directly support United States military and/or coalition forces
  • Responsible to the Task Order Project Manager (TOPM) operations and resourcing of all TO requirements, including linguist staffing, GFE accountability, and tasking responses
  • Assist TOPM for acting on all matters relating to the daily operation of the TO
  • Assist TOPM in monitoring of key aspects of the program to ensure performance is within the scope of the performance work statement (PWS) 
  • Ensures that operational processes facilitate meeting performance / mission requirements
  • Site visits to ensure a high level of performance for and satisfaction of the end user
  • Required to travel to other locations within the KOSOVO AOR
  • Advises the TOPM in assigning linguists to the appropriate mission area tasks based on expertise in Albanian, Serbian and Macedonian languages & dialects, and ethnographical breakdown of the AO
  • Observes linguist interpreting activities; inspects, edits and proofreads translated documents in to/from target language to/from English
  • Assists Quality Control Manager of translation/ transcription products and interpretation services including the accurate meaning, context, and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar, and pronunciation in both English and the target languages
  • Trains and advises new linguists helping to build a capable linguist labor force
  • Researches and develops testing and assessment methodology for local dialects and languages spoken in Kosovo and Macedonia as required
  • Maintains linguist reference library; archives reoccurring translated documents; collects, researches, develops standardized terminology and abbreviations (i.e. military terms) for use in translating documents program wide and disseminates to linguists
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Linguist degree in translating/interpreting, linguistics or related subject, English, Serbian Language and Literature or Albanian language and Literature
  • 5 years’ experience as an interpreter or translator or English or foreign language instructor
  • Language proficiency of C2/C2 (CEF Scale) in English, Albanian and Serbian
  • 5 years of management / administrative experience, in the USAREUR or KOSOVO Theater area of operations
  • Has the communication skills to effectively interface with senior military officials, managers, and subordinates both CONUS & OCONUS
  • Have a state sponsored passport
  • Pass local background screening

  •  Master’s degree in translating/interpreting, linguistics or related subject, English, Serbian Language and Literature or Albanian Language and Literature, or Bachelor's degree in business related field
  • Previous operational experience working with linguists in support of Government operations (Contractor/Military theater experience preferred)
  • Experience managing large groups of linguists (100+)
  • Having worked in an environment having a significant element of hazard and hardship
  • Must be able to live and work in a deployed environment
  • Must have intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to work extended hours in support of 24/7 operations
  • Must be detail oriented and organized and must demonstrate time management
  • The employee must have the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner as well as the ability to meet deadlines when applicable
  • Language proficiency in Macedonian




• Working conditions are normal for an office environment with controlled temperature and lighting conditions; however,
work long hours for extended periods of time and travel in a high risk environment, frequent travel / site visits are required (travel between locations on foot or by vehicle).  Some locations may be remote, high-risk, austere, and geographically diverse
