SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking an Environmental Coordinator for a Base Operations Support (BOS) Services contract located throughout Bahrain.


Ensure Contractor operations adhere to the goals and policies of the Environmental Management System and other specified sustainability requirements affecting this contract in support of the Navy’s mission
Develop, implement and monitor environmental strategies, policies and programs that promote sustainable development
Examines the contract activities to establish where improvements can be made and ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations
Ensure the Hazardous Waste, Hazardous Material Management Programs and Hazardous Waste shipments meet standards in accordance with established regulations and programs
Oversees the Hazardous Waste Accumulation Storage Area including Satellite Accumulation Storage Areas
Completes other assigned duties as required
Meet regularly with Government Environmental office


Speaks, reads and comprehends English 
Have a minimum two (2) years’ experience with running environmental programs on a Military Installation
Working experience with Environmental Management System (EMS)
Working knowledge with EPA, DoD environmental regulations, including the OEBGD
Have knowledge of environmental regulations and federal energy laws and policy including energy and water reduction requirements and renewable energy requirements
Ability to track, monitor, mediate and oversee the development of approaches and solutions to SSHO related issues including managing investigations of accidents and near-misses, summation of findings, and recommendations of strategies to prevent recurrences
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and on a team
Proven experience displaying ability to staff, organize, lead and manage a diverse work force 
Demonstrable proficiency in MS Office suite (or comparable), and project management platforms
Ability to pass basic physical and background checks sufficient for duty in a contingency/military environment



Bachelor’s Degree in environmental related studies preferred
Military background and working knowledge of US Army Environmental and Safety and Health regulations 
40-hour HAZWOPER certified
Hazardous Material Spill Team Service Management 


Working conditions are in an austere environment
Position will require candidate to undergo medical screening and meet deploy-ability standards
