SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a qualified Proposal Writer/Editor to support our Capture and Proposal Team. The Editor is responsible for a variety of tasks related to producing and publishing proposals, white papers, and other Business Development-related material including creating, editing, and processing text and graphics for hard copy and electronic submissions. The proposal writer/editor creates, reviews, and edits material to ensure compliant, compelling, and accurate text is prepared for final dissemination.


  • Ensures high-quality content for proposals and other corporate materials
  • Reviews RFPs and to helps confirm that proposal responses are compliant and compelling
  • Edits and guides content of proposal artifacts through the review processes
  • Researches and writes material as needed
  • Maintains SOSi Writer’s Style Guide
  • Bachelor’s degree in English or related field
  • Proven writing experience with the ability to clearly and concisely write proposal sections to convey knowledge of the client’s mission and business objectives and how our solution meets or exceeds requirements
  • Must be flexible, highly motivated, and reliable
  • MS Word Proficiency
  • Excellent reading comprehension, writing, spelling, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and deliverables under tight deadlines


  • Master’s Degree in English or related field
  • Relevant professional affiliations and/or memberships such as Society for Technical Communication (STC)
  • Understanding of Federal Government proposal development and related Shipley training
  • Knowledge of standard RFP/contract structure and contract types and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Processes


  • Normal office working conditions.
  • Around-the-clock availability and non-traditional working hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Occasional physical exertion, including lifting and/or moving objects or packages weighing up to 25 lbs.
