JOB DESCRIPTION

SOSi is seeking a Network Engineer for our current contract located on Camp Taji, Iraq. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Installs, configures and troubleshoots Wi-Fi access points, network switches, routers, firewalls and segments for multiple separate networks 
  • Installs, operates and maintains expeditionary data and voice communications
  • Supports all technology equipment including data, video, voice, audio visual and phones
  • Provides user support of all technology equipment including data, video, voice, audio-visual and phones
  • Operates and maintains the Local Area Network (LAN) and maintains connectivity into the internet and international phone network
  • Maximize network performance by real time performance and availability monitoring
  • Plan and schedule upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimization
  • Supervises and provides quality assurance for network teams and technicians
  • Produces and communicates network and IT system plans
  • Provide remote support for other dislocated work sites
  • Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Microsoft Office 2010 Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience
  • At least four (4) years installing, monitoring and supporting networks to include routers, switches, firewalls and wireless equipment
    Demonstrated experience installing, operating and maintain expeditionary data and voice communications
  • Experience with the following: 
    • Routing and Switching
    • Firewalls 
    • IP Based Phone System
    • Surveillance Systems (CCTV)
    • Fiber & CAT5 Infrastructure
    • Video Conferencing
  • Expert troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Solid diagramming and documentation skills


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Cisco CCNA or CompTIA Network+ Certification 
  • Optical Fiber Termination Skills – splicing and terminating
  • Familiar with Mikrotik network equipment
  • Familiar with VSAT communications systems
  • Basic knowledge of audio/video systems
  • Basic knowledge of radio communications
  • Fluency in a foreign language
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Willingness to live and work under environmental and other conditions that may be uncomfortable at times
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
  • Requires periods of non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary 
  • May require ability to lift/and or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs.
