SOSi is seeking a Water Purification Operator for our current contract located on Camp Taji, Iraq. 


  • Facilitate the issuing and production of water for the customer and MSG-I occupants by operating and maintaining Equipment at Distribution Point (PoI) and reverse osmosis or other water purification equipment with minimal guidance from management
  • Monitors panel board and adjusts controls to regulate flow rates and distribution of water
  • Enforce safety standards and facilitate applicable on-the-job-training
  • Operates and controls electric motors, pumps and valves to regulate flow of water into treating plant and to the Distribution Point (PoI)
  • Must make rapid, appropriate decisions to improve simple to complex problems, keeping safety a priority
  • Possess understanding of how bladders affect plant operation and their potential safety hazards
  • Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment
  • Records data such as basic customer information and the amount of water he has taken
  • Mechanical ability to facilitate diagnosis and repair or water treatment equipment
  • Calibrate and maintain inline instrumentation such us flow meters
  • Ability to follow technical instructions, equipment maintenance schedules
  • Make expeditious and appropriate decisions to assist in the solving of simple to complex problems, while maintaining safety a priority
  • Troubleshoot symptoms of equipment maintenance issues (i.e. membrane fouling/scaling, to include pump, plumbing, flow meters and control issues) to enact immediate remedial action when needed
  • Work independently or in a team environment
  • Apply safety when working with hazardous chemicals 
  • Utilize basic water plant hydraulics and electro-mechanical operation, troubleshooting ability, understanding of water treatment techniques, and water treatment process equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two (2) years of civilian/industrial water or military water purification operations
  • Effective computer and communication skills
  • Must be able to lift 70 lbs. unassisted, and work in extreme climate, in awkward positions, safely with hazardous chemicals, on day/night shift, and must be able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Must be mechanically inclined to assist with the diagnosis and repair of water treatment equipment 
  • Possess basic water plant hydraulic and electro-mechanical operation and troubleshooting skills
  • Possess basic understanding of water treatment techniques and equipment used in the reverse osmosis process


  • Fluency in a foreign language
  • HAZMAT endorsement preferred, but not required

  • Willingness to live and work under environmental and other conditions that may be uncomfortable at times
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
  • Requires periods of non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary 
  • May require ability to lift/and or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs.
