SOSi is seeking a Transportation and Customs Manager to provide transportation, shipping, customs, logistics and administrative support for a U.S. Government program in Bogota, Colombia.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • This position requires extensive interaction with technical and administrative personnel from the Government and other teamed companies
  • Candidate must have superior communications and organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding customer relations
  • Provides all aspects of transportation, shipping, and customs support for the program
  • Coordinate with U.S. Embassy, host nation, military base commanders, commercial carriers, Air Mobility Command, SOUTHCOM Deployment and Distribution Center and TRANSCOM
  • Coordinate and execute shipping requirements for the program to include documentation, preparation, marking, packaging, tracking, receipt, inspection, storage, issuance, turn-in, and discrepancy resolution
  • Coordinate customs processing, ITARs requirements and all import/export compliance requirements for incoming and outgoing property and material
  • Certify hazardous cargo for air, ground and sea movement
  • Ensure convoy, hazardous, or over-sized permits are acquired before movement
  • Prepare status reports and input to contract deliverables
  • Prepare discrepancy reports
  • Utilize the Global Combat Support System (GCSS) for supply, maintenance and property accountability functions
  • Utilize contractor provided asset management system
  • Support contract compliance
  • Prepare and submit reports
  • Manage workforce of Colombian citizens ensuring compliance with labor laws
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Five (5) years prior military logistics experience including transportation and customs within in the last seven (7) years
  • Experience managing contractor personnel on programs valued greater than $5M
  • Knowledge of U.S. military and commercial transportation procedures and processes
  • Knowledgeable on shipping, receiving, and documentation procedures for sensitive and HAZMAT cargo and knowledgeable on Foreign Military Sales (FMS) logistics processes
  • Experience with US customs procedures and documentation
  • Shall possess the ability to coordinate customs/nationalization procedures, operate DoD In-Transit- Visibility system, SMS and track USMILGP commercial and DoD cargo shipments
  • Knowledge of the Global Combat Support System- Army (GCSS-Army) and logistics and procedures
  • Experience with Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS) and FEDLOG
  • Current qualification to certify hazardous cargo for movement by air, surface, rail and sea
  • Prior experience in a DoD transportation management office
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Language proficiency:  level IV English; Level III Spanish
  • Current US Government SECRET security clearance

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fluency in a foreign language
